LANCE CORPORAL ROBERT DAVID JONES.

On the Roll of Honour of this City, Robert D. Jones, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Jones, 16 Britannia Square, Upper Bangor, is worthy of a place. He served in France with the 14th Royal Welsh Fusiliers, and lost his life in the first battle of the Somme on July 25, 1916, at the age of 27 years.

"It is only a mother who knows the sorrow,
It is only a mother who feels the pain,
Of losing a son she loved most dearly,
But will trust in God to meet him again!
Forgotten by some in the world you may be
But never for one moment forgotten by me."
