MABON'S DAY.

REST differs from laziness. The only trueheir of rest is labour. The creation is but the great battle-field of Life's contest. "The fittest survive" is the motto of being. Although in the midst of the great struggle of life, we find after all that labour is but a storm—clad tide swelling with a mighty rush towards the beautiful haven of rest. Labour is Life on the march to rest, which when reached is but a boundless fountain of revival and new life. The daisy stares the scorching sun through the day, but forgets the world, and enfolds itself in a dream of heaven under the rest of night. And
