PRIVATE GEORGE CARTER.
George Carter was the son of Mr. and Mrs. George Carter, 43 Well St., Bangor. He went to France with the 50th Machine Gun Corps, and was greatly beloved by officers and men alike for his bravery to duty in the field. He was killed in action on Christmas Day, 1916, aged 29 years.
"Sleep on, beloved, sleep and take thy rest,
Lay down thy head upon thy Saviour's breast,
We love thee well, but Jesus loves thee best,
Good night! good night! good night!"
