LIEUTENANT CHARLES VERNON LEWIS.

Lieutenant Lewis was the youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Charles Lewis, of Bangor and Conway. He was educated at Rydal Mount School, Colwyn Bay, and served his apprenticeship with Messrs. William Bingham, Bros & Co., and then took up a position with Messrs. Harrisons and Crosfield, Tea Merchants, London. In June, 1915, he married Miss Edith Isabel Collingwood Alexander, The Manor, Longbank. On the outbreak of war, he joined the 4th Manchesters (City Battalion), and subsequently received a commission in the South Wales Borderers. Lieutenant Lewis died at Weymouth Nursing Home, whilst undergoing an operation for appendicitis on August 18, 1915. The interment took place, with full military honours at the Glanadda Cemetery, Bangor. The deceased was 32 years of age.
