ENGINEER ALBERT WYNN WILLIAMS.

Mr. Albert Wynn Williams was the third son of Mr. David Wynn Williams, Garth, Bangor. He was educated at Garth National School. He served his Engineering apprenticeship at the Foundry Beach Road, of which his father was joint owner. From there he went to Messrs. Cammell Laird's, and then to Messrs. Lamport & Holts. He afterwards joined the Elder Dempster Co., with whom he served over twenty years as Engineer in various ships of their fleet. During the whole of the War, the "Elsby," of which he was 2nd Engineer, was engaged in carrying troops. and munitions, and on July 19th, 1917, the ship was torpedoed by an enemy submarine in the Mediterranean and totally destroyed. Out of the troops and crew aboard, only five were saved, deceased being amongst those missing.
