Aman yn enw arferedig yna, a pha le y saif y mynydd yn gymwys? nesaf, a oes yna rywbeth a ellid ystyried yn Llwch (neu Lyn) Tawe yn agos. i darddiad y nant a elwir Egel?

Carwn yn fawr ymweled â'ch ardal chwi, ond nis gwn yn iawn am un tebyg i mi ddyfod y ffordd yna yn fuan.

Yr eiddoch yn ddiffuant,

Dear Mr. Williams,
I venture to trouble you with some more questions, but this time not about swine, but about dialects. In your dialect, and in mine, both long a and short are pronounced broad; but in Montgomeryshire they are both narrow, as in tān, cār and llăn, căm. In most of Gwent and Morgannwg the long one is narrow, and the short one broad, as you have doubtless noticed. What I want to know is, what is the Brecknock pronunciation, whether it is like yours, or Glamorgan or Montgomeryshire? Also where would you draw the line between you and Morgannwg in this respect? When do they begin to say tād, tān, kiān for tad, tan and cân? Is it the Nedd or the Tawe or what is the boundary?—the western portion has not always belonged to Glamorganshire I believe.

Wishing you and Mrs. Williams a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year,

I remain,

Yours very truly,

J. RHYS.

Croesawu ei "Ystorïau Cymru" i'r "Cymru" mae O. M. Edwards, a diolch am "Yr Yswain Mawr." Mae "Allen Raine" yn cydfeirniadu âg ef mewn rhyw Eisteddfod, ac yn son am y Cyfansoddiadau. Eisiau gwybod am am "Gwilym Hiraethog "—" the distinguished Dr." sydd ar Mr. Johnson, i baratoi ysgrif arno i'r "Dictionary of National Biography."

Dear Sir,
I have been requested by the Editor of the Dictionary of National Biography' to prepare an article by the end of this present month on the late Rev. Dr. William Rees, of Liverpool, which I have consented to do. Unfortunately, however, I am confronted by a very great difficulty, inasmuch
