Eto gor lleol, fel corach ymhlith y cewri, ac yn olaf, Pontycymer, glowyr fel bechgyn y Rhondda, ac yn gantorion glew bob un. Ond y "Tyrol" nid cystal, a'r "War Horse" yn wannach fyth. Y Dyfarniad "Yr ail wobr, Treorci, y wobr flaenaf, Rhondda Glee Society, a'r miloedd yn dywedyd, 'Amen!'

Y noson honno yn y tai, a thrannoeth yn y talcenni gwaith, ac ar ben pob heol,—" Rhondda am Byth!" 'Nawr am Chicago!"

Erbyn cyrraedd o Ddaff ei lety ar ôl prysurdeb y dydd rhyfedd hwnnw ym Mhontypridd, estynnodd gwraig y llety lythyr iddo, ac i'w fawr syndod, yn ysgrifenedig ar ei gefn yn eglur y geiriau hyn, "If not delivered, return to Box 217, Third Block, Winnipeg, Canada." Syllodd y llanc ar y cyfeiriad yn fanwl, ac ar y cyfarwyddyd dieithr drachefn, cyn ei agor. Yna, wedi penderfynu ohono mai iddo ef, ac nid i neb arall, yr oedd y llythyr tramor hwn, fe'i hagorodd, ac o flaen ei lygaid syn gwelodd fod y cynnwys yn dywedyd,—

Box 217.
Third Block,
Winnipeg,
Canada.
June 1st, 1893.

Dear David,

It is now nearly three years since I received your letter from the address in the Rhondda, intimating your mother's death, and of your efforts to maintain yourself honestly in that place. After delaying to write to you (for which there is no excuse) I really thought I had lost your missive. But in turning out some old account books the other day, I found it, and since its discovery my conscience has allowed me no rest until I have made amends for my former remissness.

You will be pleased to know that I have not been devoid of success in Winnipeg. I am now master of a large dry—goods store, which is entirely my own. I have a wife but no children, and as I can at present take in a young man to help in the business I give you the offer. I think it but right that brothers should help one the other, so if you care to accept come right away, and you will find me at the above address awaiting your coming.

Yours fraternally,
WILLIAM OWEN.
