Commissioners. Wedi cytunai'r Profwyr fod gwr yn gymwys i'r weinidogaeth, rhoddent orchymyn i'r Commissioners roddi awdurdod i'r cyfryw i fyned allan i'r weinidogaeth, a chael cynhaliaeth yn y gwaith. Er mwyn i'r oes hon, a'r rhai a ddel, weled trefn yr amser hynny, gosodaf yma yr awdurdod gwladaidd a roddid i weinidog. Gweler hi isod." [1]

Y Profwyr.

Yr oedd pum gweinidog i farnu dawn y gwr, ac os byddai gymeradwy, rhoddid gorchymyn ysgrif- enedig i'r Commissioners ei awdurdodi i waith y weinidogaeth. Gwyr cyfrifol o'r wlad oedd y Commissioners, byddai pump o honynt yn rhoi eu dwylaw wrth yr awdurdod, ac yn gorchymyn i Drysorwr y Sir dalu y gweinidog y swm a enwent hwy. Dywed Dr. Walker, fod Mr. Powel, wrth ei enw, yn yr Act honno, yn un o'r Commissioners, ac yn bregethwr teithiol trwy Gymru; a bod Mr.

  1. By the Commission of the Propagation of the Gospel in Wales. Whereas five of the Ministers, in the Act of Parliament named, bearing date the 25th of February, 1649, and entitled. An act for the better Propagation of the Gospel in Wales" have, according to the tenors of the said act, ap- proved of Mr. Thomas Evans the younger, to be a person qualified for the work of the Ministry; and recommended him with their advice to us, that he be encouraged in the work of the Ministry: we do, according to an order to us directed by the Committee of five at Neath, therefore order, that Mr. John Pryce, Treasurer, shall forthwith pay unto the said Mr. Thomas Evans, the sum of £30 which we have thought fit to allow him toward his salary and encouragement in the work of the Ministry. And this our order, together with his aquittance, shall be a sufficient discharge for the said Treasurer. Dated under our hands the 16th of May, in the year of our Lord. 1653. John Williams, &c
