His private writings were all in this short-hand, which one of our number has, since his death, succeeded in deciphering. Though less complete than those which he himself prepared for the press, we insert a few such sermons; also short selections from others. He learned the system while at Wrexham, and afterwards added many new characters, and adapted it to the Welsh language. The use of it through his long life was a great help, saving much time and labor, and enabling him to accomplish much more than he could otherwise have undertaken.
