serth ag arno fugail yn cadw ei braidd; Ceredigion, morforwyn yn eistedd ar graig; Meirionnydd, tair gafr ar ddawns; Dinbych, Neifion ag iddo baladr tair fforch; Fflint, morwyn yn ei gwisg haf, yn dwyn ysgub a sicl. Ac am Sir Gaernarfon dywedir:

With a warlike pace
Those of Caernarvon (not the least in speed,
Tho' marching last in the main army's face)
Three golden eagles in their ensign brought,
Under which oft brave Owen Gwyneth fought.

Yn hanes y frwydr, rhoddir lle amlwg i orchestion Syr Dafydd Gam-byddaf yn teimlo fy hun fod rhyw ias o chwerthin yng nghlodforedd y bardd, a bydd fy nghydymdeimlad ag ef hefyd, a dywedyd y gwir:

The Duke Nevers now, in this sad retreat,
By David Gam and Morisby pursu'd,
(Who thoroughly chaf'd near melted into sweat
And with French blood their pole-axes imbru'd)
They seize upon him following the defeat,
Amongst the faint and fearful multitude;
When a contention fell between them twain,
To whom the Duke should rightfully pertain.
"I must confess thou hadst him first in chase,
(Quoth Morisby) but left'st him in the throng,
Then I put on." Quoth Gam: "Hast thou the face,
Insulting knight, to offer me this wrong?"
