Civil Life, and in the walks of Literature, more especially in Poetry and Song. Notices of the most eminent of these will be given, and also of the principal Families, and of the Old Welsh Nobility and their Pedigrees.

It is hoped by these means to produce a Work which will be prized, not only by every one in the Principality, but by all who are acquainted with its ancient Celtic tongue.

The Editor has been diligently preparing materials for such a Work as this, in his travels through the length and breadth of the Principality, and he has fortunately secured the assistance of several Welshmen of highest literary fame, such as the Rev. J. Emlyn Jones, LL.D., Rev. Richard Parry (Gwalchmai ), Rev. Roger Edwards, Rev. Robert Ellis (Cynddelw ), Rev. Daniel Rowland, M.A., Rev. E. Stephen, Rev. J. Spinther James, Rev. William Rees, D.D., Liverpool, Rev. William Davies, D.D. , Bangor, Rev. Thomas Rees, D.D., Swansea, Rev. Thomas Levi, Swansea, "Dafydd Morganwg," &c. , &c., &c., so that he is confident the present Work, which will be arranged alphabetically, will be worthy of being called a "NATIONAL DICTIONARY OF WALES."

The Work will be illustrated by Maps of each of the Counties, and a General Map of Wales, and by Views of important Places in the Principality ; and will extend to about 22 parts, price 2s each.
