eisiau yw hwnnw na chair mo'i dorri hyd onid elwyf i Gymru. Pe medrech daro wrth y Minor Poets, sef Hesiod, a Theocritus, a Horas, e fyddai da gennyf. They are very common. Y peth sy'n peri imi ddeisyf Horas Minellius, yw fod yn ei ddechreu daflen o holl Fesurau Horas. Meddwl yr wyf mai 24 sy o honynt fal yn Gymraeg. Ac amcanu'r oeddwn weithio Awdl ar y 24 yn y ddwy iaith i'r Twysawg erbyn. Gwyl Ddewi. But this I leave to you; perhaps it would be better to pitch upon some one of the measures in each Language, and follow it to the end of the Ode. Gwawdodyn Hir or Byrr, a Thoddaid, &c in Welsh; & Sapphic, Alcaic or the like in Latin.

WALTON, Chwefror 17, 1754.

DEAR SIR, I RECEIVED yours of the 4th of (January according to your date) February, and am exceedingly obliged to you for the sheet Almanack. You need not trouble yourself to send over another unless you have it ready by you, and can send it along with the MSS by ship to Liverpool. You could not possibly send me any thing more agreeable than that copy (unless it were £100 in cash,) for I never saw any thing of that kind in my life that was worth seeing. I beg therefore you would not fail to send it by the first ship that comes, and I do solemnly promise to return it whenever you shall require in case the original should be called for, &c. Rhowch fy annerchion yn llawn parch at Mr. Ellis, a dywedwch y cofiaf am y new style pan gaffwyf hamdden, ond fy mod yn awr yn dra phrysur yn ceisio clytio rhyw fath ar Ddyri i Siors Tywysawg Cymru erbyn Gwyl Ddewi, ar ddymuniad ein Cymdeithas o Gymmrodorion. Gwyr yw y rhai hynny na fynnant mo'u siomi, onid ê ni wnant lai na gwneuthur botasau o'm croen, fal y dywedai yr hen bobl gynt. Rhyfedd iawn o chwerwed yw'r hen Ddoctor Sion Dafydd Rhys yn ei Ragymadrodd. Pwy a allai'r "brynteion sothachlyd, a'r burgunieit gog-
