Tafla ewyllys Syr John dipyn o oleuni ar ei hanes a'i gymeriad. Ynghylch ei gladdu dywed:

My bodie to be buried in the Cathedrall Churche of Hereford if I die at Hereford orells in some other Christian buriall where my executors or administrators shall thinke most conveniente and I will that a stone with an inscription by the devise of somme of my executors or administrators be sett on my tombe within one yere after my decease mentioninge the daie and time of my decese and requeaste of all mennys praiers. And I will that a faire blacke stone whiche I lefte at Parshor (Pershore?) in Worcestershere be sett hither for that purpose my frende Master
